UArts: Freshman Yr.

2-Dimensional Design assignment. The objective was to paint image as if it were posterized. This was done in Acrylics on Bristol board with 13 hand-mixed shades of gray that i mixed myself.
Acrylic Paint. The objective here was to create a dynamic image of either a splash, splatter, or drip that had a 50/50 contrast.

Collage for 2D. Done in Photoshop.
2D Music Piece #1: For this assignment we had to create an image (without using images) that represented the feel of a piece of music.. I choose "All My Life" by KC and JoJo. Done in Photoshop
2D Music Piece #2: same as the Part 1 except this time we were allowed to use images.. I'd just like it to be clear that the bright yellow shape in the center is actually an image of two people kissing.. most people mistake it for a big ugly flower..
Just something i put together for fun. Done in Photoshop.
A puppet head I sculpted for 3-Dimensional Design.
3D Hand Study done with Plastiline Sculpy.
A 3D sculpture assignment.  I carved him out from a slab of Alabaster using a chisel, hammer, and rasp. He also was sanded 3 times and buffed with bowling ball wax before he was completely finished.

Portfolio Prep assignment #6

This was one of the summer sketchbook exercises given to me by my favorite art teacher, Mr. Windsor. Drawn the summer of 2007 before Portfolio Prep.

I'm pretty proud of this one. This was my first Acrylic painting ever! It started as a simple line drawing of one of the art room plants. Both sides of the board this was painted on had to be gessoed and sanded. I copied the line drawing on the board using transfer paper and then divided it into four sections, taped it off, and began to paint it. The four sections were done using different color schemes. ((From right to left)) The top right is Analogous, the top middle is Monochromatic, the top left is Complimentary, and the entire bottom section is Split-Complimentary.

Christmas balls done using Colored Pencils. This took me more than a month to finish. It won me a Gold Key in the Regionals  and Gold Medal in the Nationals at the 2008 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in New York City.

This is just a drawing I did for fun.  When class would start to bore me I'd pull out my sketchbook and direct my attention to this handsome guy.
