High School Art

This was done in Portfolio Prep. as a 'in class' assignment. It is a still life study of starfruit done using Prismacolor Colored Pencils on toothed watercolor paper.

'Golum' from "The Lord of the Ring" movies. This was done in my  Computer Art 1 class at  using Corel Painter; also this was my first time using a graphic tablet.

Portfolio Prep assignment #6

This was one of the summer sketchbook exercises given to me by my favorite art teacher, Mr. Windsor. Drawn the summer of 2007 before Portfolio Prep.

I'm pretty proud of this one. This was my first Acrylic painting ever! It started as a simple line drawing of one of the art room plants. Both sides of the board this was painted on had to be gessoed and sanded. I copied the line drawing on the board using transfer paper and then divided it into four sections, taped it off, and began to paint it. The four sections were done using different color schemes. ((From right to left)) The top right is Analogous, the top middle is Monochromatic, the top left is Complimentary, and the entire bottom section is Split-Complimentary.

Christmas balls done using Colored Pencils. This took me more than a month to finish. It won me a Gold Key in the Regionals  and Gold Medal in the Nationals at the 2008 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in New York City.

This is just a drawing I did for fun.  When class would start to bore me I'd pull out my sketchbook and direct my attention to this handsome guy.
